BARB Data Analysis

In this graph, it shows that a greater amount of 16-24 year olds were watching television channels each week in 2012 compared to 2016. This is most likely due to an increase in online streaming. For example, more teenagers/young adults are using sites such as Netflix. In the given time frames, all of the age groups watching tv channels have decreased, except for ages 65+.  This could be due to this demographic not being as technologically advanced as younger audiences, and therefore not having the ability or access to use streaming sites and modern technology (e.g. tablets).

The social grades who watch the most television are C2, D and E. This is likely to be due to the fact that they have a lower income, and therefore cannot afford or dont wish to spend their money on new technology and streaming sites.
